Department of Anatomical Pathology
The department of anatomical pathology is located next to the building of ''Armenia'' Republican Medical Center. The department operates since the day of Medical Center's foundation.
The department of such significance carries out the following services:
- Histological examination (duration of examination is 3-5 days)
- Biopsy (duration of examination is 3-5 days)
- Intraoperative (or express) histological examination (duration of examination is 10-15 minutes)
- Cytological examination (duration of examination is 1 day)
- Histochemical examination (duration of examination is up to 10 days)
- Organ examination (duration of examination is 7-10 days)
- Examination of hospital deaths: autopsy and histological examination of tissues
The department of anatomical pathology has the following subdivisions:
- Biopsy specimen preliminary handling room
- Histology laboratory
- Autoclaves
- Archive room
- Storage room for chemical reactives and dyes
- Mortuary refrigerators
- Histochemical laboratory
- Mortuary designed for deaths caused by infectious diseases
The department serves as a clinical base for anatomical pathology department of Yerevan State Medical University. The department cooperates with the leading German clinics through telemedicine.
