Department of Nephrology and bronchopulmonary diseases

It's already 50 years that Department of Nephrology exists. Our  nephrologists  have experience of many years,and many of them trained in leading foreign clinics.

In the  department patients funded by state as well as insured patients and patients with paid services get stationery treatment.
It’s carried out  diagnose and treatment of following diseases in the Department

1. Glomerulonephritis
2. Pyelonephritis
3. Urinary stone disease
4. Kidney amyloidosis.
5. The secondary disorders of kidneys in the following deseases
   –   Diabetes
   –   Gout ( podagra)
   –   Systemic diseases
   –   Blood diseases
   –   Analgesic abuse nephropathy
   –   Familial mediterranean fever (FMF)

Sometimes arterial hypertension has a secondary nature,most of which are caused by kidney disorders. As well as , patients with primary hypertension sometimes suffer kidney diseases, who are treated in the Department of Nephrology
Diagnosis and treatment process is carried out in accordance with international standards of modern research laboratory and  instrumental methods:Clinical, biochemical, bacteriological examinations, immunodiagnostics, computer tomography(CT) , magnetic resonance imaging(MRI), renal angiography.

Chair of Internal Diseases No. 4 of  Yerevan State Medical University has formed in the Department base,  where also trained clinical residents of Nephrology. This  allows the department physicians involved in research activities, the results of which were published in Armenian and foreign journals. Close cooperation between the Chair  and the Department allows residents to actively participate in practical activities of the department.

Methodical instructions were published for doctors in order to cure and detect arterial hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, chronic renal failure. The practice of patients with amyloidosis with long term treatment gives us opportunities to develop new schemes of treatment which decelerate the development process of amyloidosis.

The  pulmonary  Department  of  “ARMENIA” RMC  undertakes  the  prevention, early  detection, diagnosis  and  treatment  of pulmonary  diseases  for  about  45 years. It is staffed with highly qualified and experienced professionals, many of them trained in leading foreign clinics.

1. Chronic obstructive pulmonary  disease (COPD)
2. Asthma
3. Pneumonia, Pleuritis
4. Interstitial lung diseases, lung sarcoidosis
5. Occupational lung diseases
6. Acute and chronic respiratory failure

The department also has a great role in early detection of pulmonary tuberculosis and tumor diseases.

Diagnosis and treatment process is carried out in accordance with international standards of modern research laboratory and  instrumental methods: Clinical, biochemical, bacteriological examinations, immunodiagnostics, computer tomography(CT) , magnetic resonance imaging(MRI), diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy, physiotherapy, pulmonary function diagnostic room, room inhalyatsion.

In the department are worked new treatment schemes, which provide full recovery for the diseases of bronchial-lung system. The new schemes also prevent the disease from becoming chronic, and if it is already chronic, the new schemes help to provide a long-term remission.
